New Features

AudioMASTER 6.3 includes the following new features:

  • Support for TestStand 2010 SP1 and TestStand 2012.

  • Support for the NI PXIe-1491, including the following features:

    • When you enable ARC in NI AudioMASTER for the NI PXIe-1491, you gain Ethernet access to/from the HEC/LAN connector through the HDMI IN connector to any HEC-enabled device. (ARC and HEC are combined in the HEAC functionality defined by HDMI specifications, so enabling ARC also enables HEC.)

    • VIs and example VIs for programming the NI PXIe-1491 in LabVIEW.

  • Implementation of an NI installer.

  • Implementation of NI licensing and activation. Under the new licensing, activation of the Analog Audio Analysis and/or Digital Audio Analysis licenses applies to both AudioMASTER and all AudioMASTER plug-ins, so AudioMASTER plug-ins no longer require their own licenses.

  • LimiTEST built as a DLL.

  • Live View built as a DLL.

  • Hardware configuration tool to edit registry settings.

  • Support for localized decimal point in LimiTEST.

  • Implementation of AudioMASTER VIs that you can use within TestStand to change measurement plug-in parameters on the fly.The VIs are supported for LabVIEW 2011 SP1 (32-bit) and 2012 (32-bit).

  • Support for listing multiple frequencies in a table for Coherent Sweep, Dual Tone, and Multiple Pure Tones measurement plug-ins.

  • Support for selecting individual harmonics for nth harmonic calculations in the Single Tone, Amplitude Sweep, Coherent Sweep, and Multiple Pure Tones measurement plug-ins.

AudioMASTER 6.2 includes the following new features:

  • Improved load time of AudioMASTER by building AudioMASTER into a DLL.

  • New LabVIEW digital audio API, NI-DigAudio.

  • Support for eight-channel HDMI audio.

  • Improved memory usage.

  • Improved the algorithm for the Polarity plug-in. This plug-in still supports test sequences that use the previous algorithm.

  • Update to Step Response plug-in to use a more robust method.

  • Update to the data transfer between AudioMASTER and LimiTEST when executing in TestStand.

AudioMASTER 6.1 includes the following new features:

  • Support for running AudioMASTER without administrator rights by changing reading Windows registry values to use read-only mode.

  • Change in step types for TestStand to show a better default axis on the LimiTEST Graph Limit graph.

  • Change in calibration measurement functions to set the time-out value of the hardware platform to at least 1.5 times the acquisition time.

  • AudioMASTER now returns an error message if you run with an empty setup and pass the Save Waveform global setting in run mode.

  • Addition of signal info text that indicates the number of tones and the duration on plug-ins such as Amplitude sweep, Coherent sweep, Dual tone, and Multiple pure tone that generate stepped tone sweeps.

  • Addition of the mxAM Plug-in Queue Time Out GLOBAL VI to enable tuning performance for plug-in selection changes to avoid Error 1026.

  • Support for an Initial delay longer than the specified measure time by changing the signal calculation of delay segments. This change might also affect Pre-delay and Post-delay segments in the AmplSweep, CoSweep, and Flex sweep measurement functions.

  • Change in Single-tone plug-in to write Status bits in Digital Audio mode.

  • Support for a LimiTEST direct data transfer that enables you to select which vector result to use for evaluation by graph limits and key parameters. You can now include key parameter values and limits in the standard report.

  • Support for Live View in TestStand.

  • Support in Plug-in shell user interface for automatically selecting linear or logarithmic mapping.

  • Support for disabling the auto-mapping feature by setting auto scale on the x-axis to the unlocked state.

  • Support in Plug-in shell for writing the list of selected vector results and vectors to the mxAM Last Exec Data VI when a measurement is executed. LimiTEST uses this feature to browse for available results by name and immediately display recent results.

  • Support in Plug-in shell for saving output and/or input waveforms that pass to or from the hardware platform. Use the mxAM Save wfm GLOBAL VI to control this feature.

  • Support in FlexAUDIO-D1 platform driver for digital audio generation including AC3 encoded surround sound, and extension of advanced options for output and the selectable trigger connector. The platform driver does not support continuous output modes.

  • New Single tone plug-in that provides measurements on a single detected tone and includes support for digital audio (S/PDIF) and audio file output.

  • Support in Amplitude sweep plug-in for a selectable input filter on each input.

  • Support in BT-Headset plug-in to avoid error when using averaging as the first measurement, and to handle empty input signals such as Play only.

  • Support in Coherent sweep plug-in to include a selectable input filter on each input.

  • Support in Multiple pure tone plug-in to include a selectable input filter on each input.

  • Support in Multi-tone plug-in to select individual tone amplitudes on each output.

  • Improved the algorithm for the Step response plug-in.

  • Support in Waveform analyzer plug-in to select an individual tone or waveform on each output, and to have an input filter option and selectable windowing function on each input. Changed the amplitude ratio measurement to an impedance measurement by adding a resistor value.

AudioMASTER 6.0 includes the following new features:

  • Product name change from HearMASTER to AudioMASTER. HearMASTER now refers to legacy test functions for hearing aid tests using SequenTEST.

  • The following updates to the plug-in shell:

    • Include the advanced platform settings within the configuration, eliminating the need to open and set values on a global variable.

    • Select channel range based on the range value rather than the index, so that AudioMASTER selects the most appropriate range automatically when you select a platform.

    • Allow the flexible selection of the number of signals to analyze and the number of results to return. This is also an update to the plug-ins.

    • Handle platform drivers with no output channels, such as FlexAUDIO-D1 and DAQmx-4462. This is also an update to the plug-ins.

  • Support for multiple input and output channels in all measurement plug-ins except Polarity and Rubb'n'Buzz. Each plug-in requires a new license.

  • Support for Relative unit selector for Amplitude ratio calculation in Amplitude sweep, Coherent sweep, Multiple pure tones, and Multi-tone plug-ins.

  • Support for Initial-delay parameter in Amplitude sweep, Coherent sweep, and Multiple pure tones plug-ins.

  • Support for measuring the frequency of a test signal within 5% of the specified generator frequency in the Amplitude sweep, Coherent sweep, and Multiple pure tones plug-ins. The previous version of these plug-ins used 5% of the sample rate.

  • Inclusion of channel and platform settings in the Calibration tool, Calibration manager, and Copy calibration data.

  • Support in the Calibration tool for setting advanced timing parameters and IEPE delay for calibration measurements to enable the use of an IEPE-powered microphone.

  • Addition of the ability to accept limits for the Calibration manager automatic mode.

  • Change of calibration file format to binary format and support for old calibration files to be automatically loaded and converted into the binary format.

  • Addition of a new platform option to support the input section of the FlexAUDIO-D1 digital audio interface, the NI PXI/PCI-78x3R, and the FlexSPDIF-01 digital audio interface. As a result, the SPDIF platform that previously supported the FlexSPDIF-01 digital audio interface is no longer needed and has been deleted.

  • Support in the FlexAUDIO-D1 platform for licensed decoder software for AC3 decoding. The new DirectShow functions might interfere with the previous demo decoder, the AC3-Filter.

  • Addition of the NI USB-9233 platform with four inputs, a legacy platform included for demonstration purposes.
