Overview

The LabVIEW 2011 DataFinder Toolkit enables you to connect to NI DataFinder in order to manage and search your data files regardless of format or location. The Desktop DataFinder ("My DataFinder"), installed with this toolkit, creates an index of the descriptive information stored with your test files. With the LabVIEW 2011 DataFinder Toolkit you can build applications to access the indexed information using either a simple keyword search as well as an advanced query to find trends and correlations in your test data. The LabVIEW 2011 DataFinder Toolkit can also connect to NI DataFinder Server Edition, the DataFinder server for larger, centralized data management applications.

New Features of LabVIEW 2011 DataFinder Toolkit

The LabVIEW 2011 DataFinder Toolkit will provide the following new features:
  • New VI Get Indexed Value List, that returns a list of strings which contains all indexed values for the specified string property.

  • New VI Get Indexed Value Limits, that returns the minimum indexed value and the maximum indexed value of the given numeric or date/time property.

  • New properties parent, children and name for the search result reference.

  • Management of NI DataFinder Server Edition 2011

For more details please refer to the LabVIEW 2011 DataFinder Toolkit Help.

When you uninstall the LabVIEW 2011 DataFinder Toolkit, the current version of the shared component remains. This is intentional and has been tested extensively.

  • The LabVIEW 2011 DataFinder Toolkit, DIAdem Version 9.0, LabWindows/CVI Version 8.1, DataFinder Server Edition 1.0 and LabVIEW Version 7.1, and later versions, use a shared software component (USI) that is updated when you install the LabVIEW 2011 DataFinder Toolkit. When you uninstall the LabVIEW 2011 DataFinder Toolkit, the current version of the shared component remains. This is intentional and has been tested extensively.

DataPlugins

  • Use a DataPlugin built with the LabVIEW DataPlugin SDK only with the same LabVIEW version with which you created this DataPlugin.
